LECC values every client, and offers tailored education plans for each prospective student with the most practical advice, and helps them choose the most suitable universities and courses. It will provide the customers all relevant information relating to universities and specific courses that they are interested in, and will also assist them throughout the process of application. Interviews and face-to-face seminars are held with prospective students to help them identify their studying requirements, analysing their strengths and weaknesses, as well as proofread their supporting documents for applications. Normally the package will allow prospective students to apply for up to 5 universities / courses, to make sure they have the best chance of getting the best possible offers.

Pre-school application

Most of the prospective students are younger minorities (less than 18 years old), they will also need a legal guardian in the UK who can act as sounding board and liaise with their out-of-country parents when needed. Most of the students applying for secondary school will be boarding at the school or staying with a host family.

Prospective students and their parents are usually looking for more support at this level. The common situation is that the parents are usually financially well-off but with limited English language skills and limited knowledge about the education system in the UK, while the prospective students are not confident in arrange all steps involved in choosing a target school and apply accordingly. As such, LECC is expected to grow rapidly in this market with a focus on the service quality.

Secondary schools are usually much more in quantity and thus more difficult for prospective students to gather enough relevant information to make best possible choices, and thus this is an area that education consultancy firms could fare really well with their professional know-hows. Parents are also more likely to request additional services, for example requesting for a guided school visit, and this could be an area the LECC focuses in providing an outstanding customer experiences.

summer school or winter school

LECC will endeavour to organize at least 2 - 4 summer / winter camps and study tour trips, in order to provide opportunities for prospective Chines students to broaden their vision and increase their understanding of classic English cultures and traditions. Programmes will last 2-4 weeks and be designed with famous private high schools, which have the best teaching facilities and top teaching staff. LECC will make sure the programmes that students sign up for have a wide mixture of students from different backgrounds, and this will one of the key unique selling point to separate LECC from other education consultancy firms. There will be a choice of boarding at the private school or staying with one of the hosting families during the visit, and students will also attend at least 15-20 hours of intensive English courses to improve their language skills. Focuses will be on listening and speaking, as it is more common for Chinese students struggling with these two compared to reading and writing. A test will be held at the start of the intensive course, to allocate students into sub-groups with people at similar levels in terms of English language skills. The normal timetable will mainly be studying in the morning, and extra-curriculum activities in the afternoon. LECC will also liaise with travel agencies in London to organise study tours to London / Cambridge / Oxford to allow them a closer look on British life style.

London Education and Culture Centre Ltd will be responsible for organizing travel arrangements for summer camps or studying trips, including flight and accommodation booking, liaison with language schools, and arranging culture activities. LECC has made contact with a number of colleges and schools in China regarding organizing such trips. Progresses have been made with three Chinese partners with the hope that they will help introducing clients that are interested for their children or the offspring of their friends.

The study tour and the summer/winter camp will help the prospective students by:

1. Giving the opportunity to act independently out of their normal comfort zone, and promoting group co-operations.
2. Improving the child’s creativity and allow them to get a flavour of the teaching method in the UK (which is usually more open and interactive)
3. Meeting students from other countries with different backgrounds, and make friends with people from all over the world
4. Experiencing the cultural difference personally, and learning the differences between cultures / traditions / practices different people, and helping students to appreciate the importance of diversity and inclusiveness.
5. Practicing English listening and speaking as that will be the only language that prospective students may communicate with the head of the team.

Training course

LECC will cooperate with other established education companies (such as Enjoy Education, Tutofair), in order to provide industry-leading training programmes, such as (UKiset – UK Independent School’s Entry Test), GCSE, and A-Levels. These training will be provided by external third party companies, and LECC will only own a percentage of the total tuition fees as commissions.

In addition to training for prospective students, LECC will also look into the market of inviting British leading experts and education gurus to provide periodic trainings to Chinese teaching staff. Initial discussion has been held with at least 3 Chinese companies, and there has been agreement in principle about running these programmes on a long-term basis. Chinese partners involved so far include People East (Beijing) Education and Technology Ltd, Intelligence Bank Education and Technology Ltd (associated to Nanjing Normal University), and Red Route Cultural and Education Ltd (as per attached).
